In the study, researchers from multiple institutions including the University of California San Diego Integrative Medicine Program assigned 119 middle-aged adults to either a Yoga Detox/Panchakarma program or a Relaxation Control group for 6 days.
Researchers found the Yoga Detox/Panchakarma group had measurable decreases in blood-based metabolites associated with obesity, hormonal imbalance, inflammation, diabetes and heart disease risk.
This suggests Yoga Detox/Panchakarma can help overweight menopausal women manage weight and improve well-being in a short period of time and can be repeated periodically.
